Thank you so much for visiting our website.The vision that the Lord gave us started in a barn where a revival broke out as the powerful presence of God began to transform lives. The Lord spoke clearly to Pastor Joshua Alvarez to begin a church in Vancouver, Washington that would be a center for revival to the nations. Out of obedience The River Church opened its doors in June of 2009.It is a great time to be alive in Christ and we celebrate the freedom we have in Jesus with worship, the Word, and learning to be genuine in our love for one another. TRC also incorporates the worship arts such as dance, drama and prophetic art in many of its services and celebrations.We welcome you to come and visit The River Church Saturday night at 7pm or Sunday at 1pm. We also have many home churches that meet on Tuesday evenings in Portland/Vancouver Metro area that you might be interested in. Pastor Corey Bunch was born in Seattle, WA but at only 4 months old his parents were sent to Brazil as missionaries where he lived for 26 years.At the age of 12 he had a powerful encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ where the Holy Spirit put a conviction upon his heart to go to the Nations.Corey separated himself in love for the work of the Kingdom and for many years served the Lord by preaching the gospel in the streets, local churches, market place, radio ministry, conferences and churches all around Brazil. Pastor Corey also used his gifts for worship to release the Father's love of healing, unity and love over the body of Christ.In 1986 Pastor Corey met and married Suzi who was born in Brazil. Suzi began to serve the Lord when she was 7 years old. At the age of 14 she began to allow the Holy Spirit to reach out to many through her testimony.Pastor Suzi has a Bachelors degree in Arts where she specialized in music. In Brazil she used her knowledge and gifts to develop Drama and Worship Arts Ministries.The Lord has gifted Suzi with a beautiful prophetic voice that ushers in the presence of the Lord here on earth.Pastor Corey and Suzi have two wonderful children, Jennyfer who is 11 and Samuel who is 7. Both of their children love the Lord with all their hearts and carry the seed of revival to their generation.In 2005 after a season of prayer and fasting the family knew they were to leave Brazil and come to America as missionaries. They came on staff as Pastors in 2010. They bring the heart of the Father, which is love, to the community and The River Church.
Apostle Joshua Alvarez was born in the city of San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1995 his life took an entirely new meaning when he surrendered his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. The same year of his conversion Joshua started preaching the Gospel. Joshua is the Senior Pastor of The River Church and he is Vice President of Anchor of Salvation International Ministries, the worldwide ministry founded by his parents, Pastor's Milton and Eneida Alvarez.Pastor Joshua has traveled around the world preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ where he has been featured on television and radio programs internationally and locally. He has had the privilege to meet many influential world leaders-political and Christian. Joshua has been part of the prophetic rallies in churches, conferences and crusades throughout the nations. Pastor Joshua hold a Master's degree in Theological studies. Joshua is recognized as an Apostle, Teacher, Prophet and Evangelist. He works under a beautiful anointing of prophecy and healing with an emphasis on the unchanging word of God. He is described by those who have heard or know him as a "radical" and an "influential" young man.Today Joshua Alvarez continues to take the message of God's Saving, Delivering and Healing power to the nations. He wants to see the church rise, yet his message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ continues to be fervent and motivates him to "go into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 15:15)

In 1986 Pastor Milton Alvarez was radically saved and called to the ministry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In December of 1989 Milton married Eneida. They are a team that has been led by the Holy Spirit in what ever they put their hands to do.Anchor of Salvation Ministries was formed in 1989 and in 1991 it became international. Through the years Pastors Milton and Eneida have faithfully ministered to many nations in the form of conferences, seminars, church meetings, business conventions, television and radio programs.Anchor of Salvation Ministries has a heart for the "least of these," which is evident in the fruit of their works with the hungry, homeless, children, prisons and rehabilitation centers.In 2010 Milton was blessed with an Honorary Doctorate in Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville, Florida.Both of them came on staff as Pastors of The River Church in 2009. THE BIBLEWe believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the only infallible guide and rule of our faith and practice. The Scriptures are the divine revelations given from God and received by Man, and as such, are the only such revelations that are inspired and infallible. The Scriptures were plenary-verbally inspired, that is the Holy Spirit breathed upon men the very words and thoughts He wanted in conjunction with the writers personalities, traits and emotions. The Holy Spirit guarded and preserved each thought, phrase and word from any error, omission or inaccuracy. (Psalm 119:89; Matthew 24:35; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21.)GODWe believe there is one God. In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection and attribute, fulfilling distinct but complementary roles in the great work of redemption. (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Timothy 1:17; 1 John 5:7.)(1) God the fatherWe believe in God the Father, the co-Creator with the Son and the Holy Spirit, who is the eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere-present, and unchangeable Creator of all. (Deuteronomy 32:6; Psalms 103:13; Isaiah 63:16; Matthew 6:9; John 3:1, 5:19-23, 17:1-11; Acts 17:28; Romans 8:14-16; Ephesians 4:6.)(2) God the sonThe Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, the second member of the Godhead. Through the Incarnation and Virgin Birth, Jesus took upon Himself the form of Man. Jesus Christ was sinless, perfect, crucified, buried, resurrected, ascended, glorified and He will come again to earth a second time. He is the perfect Mediator between God and Man, perfect in deity, perfect in humanity. He ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us as the King of kings and Lord of lords. (Isaiah 53:1-5; Matthew 1:21-23; John 1:1-3, 11:25-26; Ephesians 1:20-23; Philippians 2:1-6; 1 Timothy 2:5.)(3) God the Holy SpiritWe believe in God the Holy Spirit, who is now sent by the Father through the Son to convict the world of sin, lead us into all truth, and empower and equip the Church to carry on Christ’s work on earth as well as be the great paraclete (comforter, counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate and strengthener) to the Church. The baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire is a gift from God to all believers and is received subsequent to and in addition to the New Birth. Whereas there is one initial baptism, there are many subsequent infillings of the Spirit. (Genesis 1:2; John 14:26, 15:26, 16:8; Acts 1:8.)THE REDEMPTION OF MANWe believe Jesus Christ was the sacrifice God planned from the foundation of the world for the sin of the human race. By shedding His blood and dying on the cross, Jesus made provision for the salvation of all people. Man is a created being and was made in the likeness and image of God (both male and female). But, through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world and passed upon all men. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is the free gift of God to Man, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. This salvation experience occurs when an individual confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in his heart that God has raised Him from the dead. (Genesis 1:27, 3:1-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12, 5:19 Isaiah 53:5; Titus 2:14; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Peter 1:19-20.)ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCHThe Lord Jesus Christ, Head of the Church, established two ordinances for the Church to follow: Water Baptism and Communion. Baptism in water, by full immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord. While it is not necessary for salvation, it is for all believers. This ordinance is an outward sign of an inward work. It symbolizes a believer's identification with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection.The ordinance of Communion is also a commandment of the Lord Jesus that must be received consistently until His return. Only believers can come to the Table of the Lord, which consists of the bread and the cup. The bread speaks of His body, which was broken for us. The cup speaks of His blood that was shed for us. Both elements are witnesses of the New Covenant believers now enjoy while prophetically declaring His soon return. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4 Luke 22:7-22; 1 Corinthians 11:23-28; 2 Corinthians 13:5.)BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRITWe believe the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in every believer at the moment of salvation. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is distinct from salvation, releasing the power of the Holy Spirit through faith. Consistent with biblical accounts, believers should anticipate Spirit-baptism to be accompanied by speaking in tongues and other biblical manifestations. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to endue the believer with power from God, to offer an inspired witness for Christ, to lead the believer in a life of holiness, and to equip for a Spirit-filled life of service. (John 7:37-39, 14:16; Acts 1:8, 2:4, 2:38-39, 8:14-17, 10:44-46, 19:6; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16.)SPIRIT FILLED LIFEWe believe every Christian should walk and abide in daily fellowship with the Holy Spirit and experience continual renewing of God’s power to live a Spirit-filled life in attitudes, thoughts, speech, and conduct. In order to build up and equip both individual believers and the Church of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts that are to be earnestly desired and exercised in the spirit of love. The fruit of the Spirit to be cultivated in the life of every believer is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (John 15:4, 15:8; Acts 4:31; Romans 8:1, 8:5, 12:1-2, 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 3:17, 12:7-11, 12:31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:11, 4:30-32, 5:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:22; 1 Peter 1:15, 4:10-11; 1 John 2:6.)SANCTIFICATIONThe Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ's return.DIVINE HEALINGWe believe the power of God to heal the sick and afflicted is provided for in Christ’s death on the cross. God is willing to and does heal today. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:18; Acts 3:16, 10:38; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24.)RESURRECTIONWe believe the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ assures the believer of bodily resurrection and eternal life. (Matthew 28:1-7; Romans 6:1-10; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18.)SECOND COMING OF CHRISTWe believe the second coming of Christ will be personal, visible, and triumphant. (Zechariah 14:4; Matthew 24:36-44; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, 2:8; Titus 2:12-13; Revelation 1:7.)CHURCHWe believe believers should assemble regularly for edification, worship, fellowship, and proclamation of the gospel. All believers should do the work of the ministry according to their spiritual gifts and should tithe and otherwise contribute financially to their church. (Psalms 111:1; Malachi 3:8-10; Acts 2:42-47, 16:5; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7; Hebrews 10:24-25.)FINAL JUDGMENT AND HELLWe believe there will be a final judgment for all unbelievers. Hell is an actual place of great suffering, bitter sorrow, and remorse reserved forever for the devil and his angels and all whose names are not written in Christ’s book of life. (Matthew 13:41-43, 25:41; Mark 9:43-44; Revelation 14:10-11, 20:10-15, 21:7-8.)HEAVENWe believe heaven is an actual place of happiness and security where believers will dwell forever with God and receive the reward of their deeds done while on earth. (John 14:2; 1 Corinthians 2:9, 3:10-15; Revelation 7:15-17, 21:4, 22:5.)EVANGELISMWe believe the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ commands us to carry the gospel message to the entire world – to every nation, ethnicity, culture, and language. The growth and strength of the Church depend on its wholehearted sacrifice and support for world evangelization. (Psalms 2:8; Proverbs 11:30; Matthew 9:38; Mark 16:15; John 4:35-37; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 5:16; 2 Timothy 4:1-2; James 5:20; Revelation 5:9.)We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true believers. We desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, provided that all interpretations are based upon the Bible alone.
OUR PURPOSEThe River Church is committed to train and see God's people activated to walk in the purpose by which they are called. Many are appointed by God to be leaders, worship warriors, evangelists, teachers, prophets, apostles. We desire at TRC to provide a level of covering as they walk in the annointing of God.TRC is also committed to equip intercessors to stand in the gap for our church and our nation, bringing forth revival and welcoming the presence of God to change our towns, cities, nations and around the world so all would come to know the saving Grace of our Lord and Savior.TRC purposes itself to love those who are of all walks of life so they may know the great love of the Father and be set free.The River Church is a non-denominational, self-governing local church established on the pattern of The Bible.

Psalms 63:1-4The Lord makes his presence available to those who will sincerely seek him. Walking into the presence of God requires surrender in all areas of our lives. All creative gifts come from the Father's heart and when yielded to him will become water in a dry and thirty land. There is nothing that can compare to the power, majesty and glory of the Lord. In the midst of praise we awknowledge the greatness of his sovereignty as we enter his courts. In worship we stand in awe of his glory for there is nothing greater in heaven or earth. Who is like you oh Lord; no one.Music, drama, dance, art, and all creativity that was originally intended for the purpose of glorifying God needs to be restored within the church. Let us operate in the inheritance of the gifts the Lord has given his people. Why would we want to give our inheritance away?If we boast in anything let it be in what the Lord has done in us and through us. Let the heart of praise and worship rise up in the hand of the artist, in the instrument of the musician, in the voices of the vocalists and choir, in the feet of the dancer, in the expression of drama and all that which creates before the Lord.If you come close to the Father you will hear his heartbeat. Rest your head against him and let him speak his love and anointing over you. Let the creative fruit you bear be unperishable. Allow the Holy Spirit to enter the deepest parts of you to give strength, power and purpose in all things. Better is one day in your courts Lord than thousands elsewhere.

Childrens Church Our MissionThe mission and vision for the childrens ministry at The River Church is for all children to know who the Father is through their relationship with His Son Jesus and to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do all that the Lord has for them. This will be the start of our outreach every Friday night! This outreach is for everyone

who is hungry for a great awakening in Vancouver! Each week we will have a short teaching to begin with so please show up in time! We will be carpooling. There will be

a group of prayer warriors interceding at the church while we hit the streets. So either come pray or come to go to the highways and byways.

New Prayer time for Thursday Prayer . There will no longer be evening prayer at TRC. It will be at 9:00 am Thursday morning.

Vocal lessons next Thursday, January 19th 2012, will be canceled.

Vocal lessons, for worship leaders and background vocalists will be running from January12th to February 9th. Thursdays from 6 to 7 pm. Lessons about vocal freedom and strength.

The Time of Preparation Series will not be ready until 21th and 22nd. Sorry for the delay.

Time of Preparation Series on sale now for $60 a total of 16 teachings. Will need to

pre-order series and will be available for pickup weekend of Jan 21 & 22.
